Greygarth Hall is an independent hall of residence situated in the Victoria Park region of Manchester. Founded in 1962, it has been providing accommodation for university students in Manchester from all corners of the globe. Greygarth provides accommodation for 15 male students in individual study bedrooms with a fully catered meals service. The communal facilities include a comfortable common room, a well-stocked library, computer/study room and dining room among others. A laundry service is also available. The hall offers a full range of activities, including regular sports, lectures, seminars and outings. Our aim is to foster a study environment where applied students can make them most of their university years, while making long lasting friendships.
The Hall’s location is very convenient. The central buildings of the University of Manchester are within walking distance and other departments may be easily reached by bicycle or public transport. Greygarth’s small size and charitable status (the Hall belongs to Greygarth Association, a registered charity) gives it a unique status among other halls ofresidence. It is very international in its outlook and combines a homely environment with the grandeur of a Victorian townhouse, fully refurbished and expanded in 2011. Study is central to the life of the hall, with a long tradition of excellent academic results. The hall maintains a strong Christian ethos, but it is open to students of all religious beliefs or none. A small private chapel is available for those who wish to benefit from the spiritual aspect of the residence.
