Manchester Student Homes’ property management scheme (University Leased Houses) is a Head Leasing scheme. The University of Manchester leases properties from owners, then sub-lets them to groups of students and student families. In essence, the University becomes your tenant, while the students are the tenants of the University. Contact us for a copy of a specimen lease.
Licence
Because the University of Manchester is the tenant of the property, the property is sub-let to students under a Licence agreement. This is different from an Assured Shorthold Tenancy and is similar to a contract with a Hall of Residence.
